Books Bring
Thanksgiving
To Life

Looking for some books to make Thanksgiving more meaningful? Here are some suggestions:

It's Time for Thanksgiving, Elizabeth Hough Sechrist and Janette Woolsey, McCrae Smith Company, 1957. One book that brings it all together—a history of the first Thanksgiving, customs, stories, plays, poems, games, and recipes.

The First Thanksgiving Feast, Joan Anderson, Clarion Books, 1984. Photographed at Plymouth Plantation, this book lets kids see what the first Thanksgiving really looked like.

175 Easy-To-Do Thanksgiving Crafts, edited by Sharon Dunn Umnik, Boyd's Mills Press, 1996. This book has easy-to-read instructions and full color photographs.
